Wireless Community
About
Sharing expert information. On wireless technology and standards. By scientific experts from local research institutes, industry, and organisations.
That is the primary objective of the Wireless Community.
The members of the Community share their expertise during regular work meetings and via an online platform.
Membership is open to every organisation that is active in the value chain of wireless communication, and that has the ambition to share its expertise with the members of the community.
imec is the coordinator of the community, and the work meetings are hosted in turn by imec (Leuven) and IBBT (Ghent).
Commercial organisations pay a small annual membership fee as a contribution to the operational costs of the community.
Mission
The mission of the Wireless Community is to follow up on the recent evolutions
in wireless communication, and to share expert information amongst the members
of the community.
The added value of the community lies in the interpretation and structuring by
experts of the wealth of information on wireless communication. No single
individual or organisation is capable of following up on the extremely fast
evolutions that we observe in wireless communication today.
To stimulate the exchange of up-to-date information, imec - in its role of
coordinator - organises regular work meetings and provides a flexible online
platform for the dessimenation of presentations, reports, and documents.
